With no flick of the wrist and banging of the bell President Teri opened the meeting at 12:30. She also closed it with no bell ringing, what are we to make of this? Don Anderson accompanied the singing of the Star Spangled Banner and Joe Coons delivered the invocation.

Program:
Nick Caples, Vice President of Operations for the Bellingham Bells (and a member of the Bellingham Bay Rotary Club) provided an overview of the Bellingham based team. The Bells participate in the 11 team West Coast League, which include two teams in British Columbia and teams in Washington and Oregon. The Bells were the 2014 League Champions. Players and coaches come from college baseball teams throughout the country who are on summer break and feature those whose dreams are to eventually play professional baseball. The Bell’s “mission” is three-fold: To provide a community gathering place, to provide players and staff a chance to chase their dream of becoming professional athletes, and lastly, to provide the business community a platform to reach a wholesome audience. There are 54 games on the summer schedule, which goes through August. Home games average 1300 fans. General admission is $7, Grand Stand seats behind home plate are $10 and dugout box seats are $12. Mow get out and support those guys. Who knows there may be another Ken Griffey Jr. in their midst.
