PPP/Payroll Protection Plan Implementation

Bruce Clawson is Senior Vice President & Commercial Regional Manager for Heritage Bank, supporting three lending teams serving Whatcom, Skagit, Island, San Juan and Snohomish Counties. He started in commercial banking in 2002 with Banner Bank and became Division General Manager in 2003. Banking is Bruce’s second career, having started out as a CPA with PricewaterhouseCoopers following graduation from UCLA (who will BTW win this year’s NCAA tournament!).  He then served different businesses as Controller, VP of Finance, Budget Director and ultimately CFO for two local companies, Geographics and Trillium Corporation.

Bruce joined Heritage Bank in August 2018. In March 2020, he volunteered to work on a small team of executives who designed and implemented Heritage Bank’s PPP solution for customers and our communities. In June, he was asked to chair that same group as the bank pivoted to PPP loan forgiveness – a role he continues today.

Bruce lives in Bellingham’s Columbia neighborhood, returning very close to the first house he purchased here in 1995. He has three wonderful grown kids, all living in Seattle after attending University of Washington. He is an avid tennis player, cocktail shaker and cyclist, riding with Team Timmy on many Saturdays each Summer.
