Climate Action Plan Overview

Chris Elder has been working for Whatcom County for 8 years supporting planning for County priority areas including agriculture, watersheds, wildlife, and climate change.  He has served as the staff support for the Climate Impact Advisory Committee since inception in 2017 and is excited to see the final plan developed by the committee presented to and hopefully adopted by Whatcom County Council this fall.

This presentation will provide an overview of the Climate Action Plan developed by the committee, including an overview of the greenhouse gas emissions inventory, climate science summary, and a discussion of how Whatcom County will begin implementation of the recommended strategies and actions identified in the plan.
