Escape From Autocracy to Democracy - Steve Ban

Steve Ban was born in Communist controlled Hungary in 1947. He escaped from there with his family during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. The family made its way to the United States and settled in St. Louis. Steve completed his college and graduate school training in the Midwest. He then moved with his wife, Janis, to the Northwest and settled in Bellingham in 1977, where he practiced pediatrics until his retirement in 2015.

He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Bellingham since 2016.
