Candidates Put Politics Aside To Educate The Public
About The Whatcom County Charter and Charter Review

Fifteen candidates for Whatcom County Charter Review Commission have come together to create an educational presentation about the Whatcom County Charter and the Charter Review process called Getting To Know Charter Review. The candidates have all agreed that this program will be purely educational, and have signed pledges stating there will be no campaigning during the presentation. 

In a rare example of non-partisan cooperation, the fifteen candidates have collaborated on a script for this educational presentation that will be read verbatim – without comment to the audience. Three presenters will be chosen from the group at random, and all candidates will be invited to each event. There will be a question-and-answer period at the end of the presentation, but only non-political questions about the Whatcom County Charter, or the Charter Review process, will be accepted. Audience members will have the opportunity to talk with candidates for the Charter Review Commission outside the room the presentation is held in.

The fifteen candidates who have agreed to collaborate on this presentation include Ryan Bowman, Liz Darrow, Robin Dexter, Lindsey Graham Elenbaas, Colleen Goertz, Colton Kaltenfeldt, Kelly Krieger, Maya Morales, Hannah Ordos, Katherine Orlowski, JG Sandy Phillips, Joel Pitts-Jordan, Jessica Rienstra, Charlene Waters, John Westerfield and Jennifer Wright.
