Ying Wu and Bill Lombard on Kidney Donation

Ying Wu Bio

I'm 68, retired now for 3.5 years after 31 years as a family doctor, the last 26 in Bellingham, and very proud to be a founding member of Family Care Network, the largest entirely provider owned primary care team in the nation.

Since retirement I've been a volunteer intern with the Chuckanut Health Foundation working on upstream determinants of health such as Early Childhood Education, Youth Mental Health, Mentorship, Aging Well, and Incarceration Prevention.  I'm always happy to talk with folks about any of these projects.  I'm a commissioner on the Whatcom Racial Equity Commission, and a 25ish year member of the Mt Baker Ski Patrol.

Subject:

In January of 2026 I donated a kidney to help us move forward with the Whatcom County Moonshot, the goal of eliminating the waitlist for receiving a kidney transplant in Whatcom County by 2030.

The purpose of our talk is to ask your help in achieving this goal, because sharing knowledge is the key to moving this forward.
