Physicians Order for Life Sustaining Treatment vs Advance Directive

Bill Lombard, MD, nephrologist, medical director DaVita Mt. Baker Kidney Center, will stress that Advance Care Planning is for all adults 18 years and older, the importance of ACP prior to hospitalization/ICU admission -- the reality of what "do everything" means. Dr. Lombard will describe a POLST (Physician's Order for Life Sustaining Treatment) and how it differs from an Advance Directive. "Do everything" can mean getting a lot more than you bargained for!
